NICO belongs to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). NIOC is a State-owned entity, which provides support to the Government of Iran. Petropars Iran Company (PPI) is responsible for carrying out projects in petroleum, gas and petrochemical industries, and serving as an engineering, procurement, management and construction contractor on behalf of Petropars Ltd. Therefore, Petropars Iran Company is owned or controlled by an entity providing support to the Government of Iran.
