Worked hard to extend relief and shelter to the persecuted Hindus coming from the Earstwhile East Pakistan, 1950-51; Joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (R.S.S.) in 1950; Served as (i) Zila Karyarah of the united Cachar District for 4 (four) years;and (ii) Zila Pracharak, Cachar,1956-1961; Divisional Secretary of R.S.S. of Cachar, Tripura and Manipur; Joined Politics on 03.01.1978; Joined B.J.P., 6th April,1980;Contested Assembly seat of Silchar as the Janata Party candidate; Chairman, Silchar Co-operative Urban Bank for 12 years and made it financially stable from liquidation point; Stamps on Dr. Hedgewar and Arun Kumar Chanda were released.
