Arrested on 26 June 1975 with the imposition of emergency and later kept in Udaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur and Jaipur jails and released after 19 months on 25 January 1977; President , Udaipur Bar Association; Member, Senate and Syndicate of Udaipur University; participated in several political movements as town, district and State level office bearer of Jansangh and later Bharatiya Janata Party; actively participated in the students`movements, labour movements of Udaipur District, movements of teachers and employees of Rajasthan Government and Union Government and taken into police and judicial custody as a result thereof for seveal times
