While in service in Railways, completed and commissioned :Restoration of cyclone damaged railway track between Rahama-Paradeep, 23 Km in record number of 20 days in Nov, 1999; Sambalpur-Talcher New Railway line -175 Km in Odisha during 1998; Raipur-Bhilai 3rd line (2003) - 25 Km; and Gadag-Bagalkot Gauge Conversion - 90 Km in Karnataka during 2008. At present the constituency is ranked 543rd out of 543 constituencies in India in terms of development. Different parameters are as under : Literacy rate : 48% (2011); Per capita income : Rs. 14000; Electrification : 37% of villages; Railway line : 40 Km in one out of 3 districts; Doctors : 1 for 24000 people His dream is to remove this backwardness stigma and is working towards the all round development so that it goes up in the rank.
