In September 2024, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and deployed to the war zone, despite having no prior military service. He served as a reconnaissance scout and UAV operator, and later as the commander of an artillery reconnaissance unit. In February 2025, while conducting reconnaissance, he was severely wounded after stepping on an anti-personnel mine. Subsequently, he became the Minister of Youth Affairs and Social Communications of Yakutia.

Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the 9th convocation. This state body is responsible for political and legal support of the aggressive war against Ukraine.
